Dr. Mandar Muzumdar

Biography

Mandar Deepak Muzumdar, MD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Genetics at Yale University. He graduated from Harvard College and earned his Doctorate of Medicine from Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Muzumdar completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital and a fellowship in Medical Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He also engaged in postdoctoral research at the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His research focuses on understanding the interplay of genetic, environmental, and host factors in cancer initiation and progression, particularly in pancreatic and lung cancers. Utilizing genetically engineered models, his lab seeks to elucidate molecular mechanisms driving tumorigenesis and examine the consequences of tumor adaptations. In addition to his lab work, Dr. Muzumdar contributes to the education of medical students, residents, and fellows, emphasizing the integration of research and clinical care in oncology practice.
