Dr. Manesh Patel

Biography

Manesh Patel is the Richard Sean Stack, M.D. Distinguished Professor of Medicine at Duke University, where he serves as Chief of the Division of Cardiology and the Division of Clinical Pharmacology. His clinical interests include diagnostic and interventional coronary angiography, peripheral angiography, and endovascular intervention, particularly for patients with cardiovascular disease. Dr. Patel has been involved in numerous clinical trials focused on cardiac imaging and quality care. He chairs the American College of Cardiology Task Force for Appropriate Use Criteria for Cardiovascular Procedures and serves as Chair of the American Heart Association's Diagnostic and Interventional Cath Committee. His research reflects significant involvement in integrating clinical innovations aimed at improving patient care during invasive catheterization procedures. Dr. Patel has received several accolades, including the prestigious Duke Cardiology Fellowship Mentor Award in 2010, and was honored to become the John Bush Simpson Assistant Professor of Cardiology in 2011. In 2013, he was awarded the Robert M. Califf Faculty Clinical Research Award. He has also been granted multiple funding awards from institutions such as the National Institutes of Health for his research initiatives.
