Dr. Manfred Hauke

Biography

Manfred Hauke is a full professor of Dogmatics at the Faculty of Theology of Lugano, where he has been a permanent professor since 1993. He completed his studies in theology at the Faculty of Theology in Paderborn and the University of Munich, culminating in a doctorate under Leo Scheffczyk. After a period of pastoral service, he worked as an assistant to Professor Anton Ziegenaus at the University of Augsburg. Hauke has been an active member of the Pontifical Marian Academy since 1992 and has contributed significantly to Mariology through various editorial roles and publications. He is also known for his involvement in the theological community, including his appointment by Pope Francis to a commission studying women's diaconate. Hauke's extensive publication record reflects his research interests in theology, particularly in Mariology, sacramental theology, and systematic theology.
