Biography

Manish K Tiwari is a Royal Society Wolfson Fellow and Professor of Nanoengineering at University College London. He received his PhD from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2009. Following graduation, he conducted postdoctoral research at the Laboratory of Thermodynamics and Emerging Technologies at ETH Zurich. After spending several years as a Group Leader at ETH Zurich, he joined University College London in late 2013 as a Lecturer and was promoted to Professor in 2018. His research mainly focuses on interfaces and encompasses areas such as small-scale manufacturing and transport phenomena, with an emphasis on developing new energy and healthcare technologies. He has published papers in high-quality journals including Nature Materials, Nature Communications, PNAS, Nano Letters, and Advanced Materials. He has served as a member of the EPSRC Early Career Forum for Manufacturing Research from 2016 to 2020 and is an awardee of the European Research Council (ERC) Starting Consolidator Grant. Additionally, he has received the Royal Society Wolfson Fellowship in 2024 and is part of the steering team for the Manufacturing Futures Laboratory at UCL. He is also an editor for the journal Experimental Heat Transfer.
