Biography

Manoj K. Thomas is the Associate Dean for NYC Initiatives at Cornell Tech and holds the title of Sabanci Professor of Management and Marketing at the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business. He oversees the Johnson Cornell Tech MBA program and various Executive MBA programs, as well as new Johnson initiatives in New York City. As a behavioral scientist, Thomas conducts experiments to understand, model, and predict customer behavior, focusing on how framing, user interface, and sociomoral factors influence decision-making. His recent research delves into customer behavior in digital markets. Additionally, Thomas is committed to training future business leaders to cultivate customer-centric businesses, with lectures available through eCornell’s Consumer Behavior certificate program. His teaching excellence has been recognized with the Apple Award and the Stephen Russell Family Teaching Award. He is also the co-author of the book "Why People (Don’t) Buy: GO STOP Signals" and serves as an associate editor for the Journal of Consumer Research.
