Dr. Mansur Arief

Biography

I am a research engineer at Stanford Intelligent Systems Lab (SISL) focusing on trustworthy AI in the contexts of safety and sustainability. My work primarily involves the development of safety validation methodologies for cyber-physical systems and decision-making processes under uncertainty, particularly in safe subsurface resource planning and operations. I also contribute to supply chain designs that facilitate energy transitions within commodity markets. I hold a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, earned in 2023, and a Master’s degree in Industrial Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, obtained in 2018. My academic background further includes a degree in Industrial Systems Engineering from Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology in Indonesia, completed in 2014.
