Biography

Manuel Puppis is a professor of media structures and governance at the Department of Communication and Media Studies at the University of Fribourg. He obtained a doctorate in communication sciences and a degree in communication sciences, political science, and economic and social history from the University of Zurich. His research interests include media policy, regulation, and governance, media systems from a comparative perspective, digitization and platformization of the public sphere, media organizations, journalism, and political economy of the media. He has also received multiple awards for his contributions to media studies.
