Dr. Manuela Barreca

Biography

Manuela Barreca is a post-doctoral researcher at Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) in Lugano, Switzerland, where she focuses on public management policy. She received her PhD in Economics in 2016. At USI, she serves as a teaching assistant for the Master in Public Management Policy, contributing to the Swiss Public Administration Network. Her research interests encompass public art, cultural management, creative industries, and network governance in public-private partnerships. Barreca has been involved in projects aimed at territorial development, enhancing cultural and creative perspectives in the Canton of Ticino and beyond. One of her notable contributions is to the 'Puglia Sounds Monitoring' project, which analyzes the music industry in the Apulia Region of Italy, highlighting the role of the Puglia Sounds creative program funded by the EU to promote the regional music system. Additionally, Barreca has experience as a program manager for the Permanent Study Group on Public Network Policy Management within the European Group on Public Administration, and she is a member of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences, where she co-chairs a panel on Social Innovation. Her competence areas include digital learning, network governance, public administration, and governance.
