Dr. Manutea Serrero

Biography

Manutea Christophe Serrero is a Postdoctoral Scientist at Aarhus University, specializing in the molecular mechanisms that enable cells to fend off viral infections. His research interests include understanding host factors that bind herpesvirus particles and elucidating restriction factors that control viral infections in neurons. He began his academic journey studying inflammation in HIV infection in France before transitioning to Germany, where he focused on virology at Hannover Medical School. He completed his PhD in Biology, where he identified and characterized novel interaction partners that define the intracellular fate of herpesviral capsids. Manutea has also held positions as a PhD Student and Lab Technician, gaining extensive experience in diverse areas of immunology and infectious diseases. He aims to contribute to the field of virology through research that deepens the understanding of HIV and herpesviruses, particularly in the context of innate immunity and biochemistry.
