Manxi Wu is an assistant professor in Cornell's School of Operations Research and Information Engineering. His research interests include societal networks, game theory, network optimization, and the theory of economic incentives. He focuses on the study of platforms for information provision and autonomous services, developing models and tools for strategic learning, information design, and incentive mechanisms to achieve socially desirable outcomes in socio-technical systems. Professor Wu completed his Ph.D. in summer 2021 at the Institute for Data, Systems, and Society at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He holds an M.S. in Transportation from MIT and a B.S. in Applied Mathematics from Peking University. He is a recipient of several awards including the Hammer Fellowship, the UTC Milton Pikarsky Memorial Award, and the Siebel Scholarship, and was recognized as an EECS rising star. He served as a visiting assistant professor at Cornell's ORIE department during the 2021-22 academic year before starting his full-time appointment on July 1, 2022.
