Biography

Using isotopic tools, I study key physiological behaviors of plankton plants significant to the Earth System. Before joining the University of Glasgow, I served as a Research Fellow at Christ Church and was a postdoctoral researcher at the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ-Potsdam). I studied Marine Biology & Biochemistry (BSc) at Laval University and obtained my MSc in Oceanography at the Geotop Research Center. I completed my doctorate in Environmental Systems Science at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, focusing on the biochemical metabolic effects of hydrogen isotope composition in organic compounds of plants. My research interests as a biogeochemist include the interactions and feedbacks of the biosphere with the geosphere over spatial and temporal scales in marine and terrestrial environments. I am also interested in developing new tools involving stable and radiogenic isotope measurements to investigate fundamental biogeochemical processes. My research is primarily funded by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council, encompassing diverse projects that investigate the impacts of contaminants and emerging concerns in the biosphere through the Applied-RadioIsotope & Environmental Laboratory at the University of Edinburgh.
