Professor Dr. Marc Hurwitz

Biography

Marc Hurwitz is an Associate Professor in the Teaching Stream at the Conrad School of Entrepreneurship and Business at the University of Waterloo. He co-authored the best-seller 'Leadership Half Story' (University of Toronto, Rotman-Press) and is a co-founder of FliP U Inc., which focuses on innovative blended professional development in leadership and followership. Hurwitz teaches courses on leadership and followership, entrepreneurship, organizational behavior, and consulting at the University of Waterloo. His academic journey includes significant teaching roles at Wilfrid Laurier University, where he taught finance and neuroscience psychology, and he has years of corporate and entrepreneurial experience in product marketing and human resources. Hurwitz has received numerous awards for his teaching excellence and holds advanced degrees, including a Doctorate in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Waterloo, an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University, and multiple master's degrees in applied mathematics and theoretical physics. His research interests encompass followership, innovation, partnerships, collaboration, creativity, organizational neuroscience, team development, and strategy consulting.
