Dr. Marc Meredith

Biography

Marc Meredith is a Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania. His academic journey began with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, followed by Master's degrees in Economics and Political Science from Northwestern University, and culminated with a PhD in Political Economics from Stanford University. Before joining the University of Pennsylvania in 2009, he served as a visiting lecturer in political science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In addition to his primary role, Meredith holds a secondary appointment in the Business Economics and Public Policy Department at the Wharton School. His research primarily focuses on the political economy of American elections, emphasizing the application of causal inference methods. His work spans various areas such as election administration, election law, political campaigns, and voter decision-making. His research has been published in prestigious journals including the American Political Science Review and the Journal of Politics. Furthermore, Meredith teaches courses related to American government, policy-making, and statistical methods, providing students with insights into the intricate dynamics between politics and economics.
