Biography

Marc W. Michalowicz, DDS, MSc, is an Assistant Professor at the College of Dental Medicine at Columbia University, where he also serves as the inaugural Director of Management for Vulnerable Populations. With extensive experience in hospital-based dental practice, Dr. Michalowicz has focused his career on serving individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities. Previously, he was the chief of dental medicine at Helen Hayes Hospital and has held positions in anesthesiology and as the director of General Practice Residency. He is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists and a Diplomate of both the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology and the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology. His contributions to the field have been recognized through several honors, including induction into Omicron Kappa Upsilon and the CUIMC Academy of Community and Public Service, as well as receiving the Richard G. Spolzino Humanitarian Access Care Award from the Ninth District Dental Society. Dr. Michalowicz's commitment to pediatric dentistry was also highlighted through a fellowship at Columbia University.
