Biography

Marc Renault is currently a Faculty Associate at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He previously served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada. Prior to that, he completed a postdoctoral position at the Institute for Research and Development in Computer Science (IRIF) at Université Paris Diderot, known as Paris 7, as part of an ERC Consolidator grant-funded project led by Amos Korman on Distributed Biological Algorithms. He also held a postdoctoral role in the Operations Research group at LIP6, Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris 6) in 2014. He earned his PhD from Université Paris Diderot, where he was supervised by Adi Rosén. Marc has an extensive industry background, spending seven years as a computer consultant before entering academia. His research interests are primarily centered on the design and analysis of algorithms, with a special focus on approximation algorithms and online-offline algorithms. His work explores areas including online algorithms, search algorithms, streaming algorithms, distributed computing, and algorithmic mechanism design.
