Dr. Marc Tassé

Biography

Mr. Marc Y. Tassé is an award-winning lecturer at the University of Ottawa, teaching in the Faculty of Law and the Telfer Executive MBA program. He currently serves as a Senior Fellow in the Board Directors Certificate: Legal Ethical Governance Program at the Faculty of Law – Common Law Section, and as the Director of the MBA Program at the Telfer School of Management. Over the past 35 years, Mr. Tassé has taught over 10,000 students in business law programs and trained 60,000 legal and business professionals in Canada and internationally. He has designed and delivered numerous accredited professional development programs and created innovative courses for Law and MBA students. Recognized as an expert in economic and financial crime, Mr. Tassé's research explores the domestic and transnational misconduct that drives individuals to break the law, the illicit activities that are often concealed, and the measures taken to disrupt these schemes. His work emphasizes the use of Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, and Machine Learning to enhance the prevention and detection of fraud and corruption. He was selected as a knowledge partner for the 2020 OECD Global Anti-Corruption & Integrity Forum and presented his research on corporate punishment at an international symposium. Additionally, he has participated in academic discussions convened by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime to advise on G20 anti-corruption efforts. Mr. Tassé is a Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant and Fellow Chartered Governance Professional, and was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal for his significant contributions to the field.
