Biography

After completing postdoctoral training in ophthalmology, Dr. Falcao received specialized training in oculoplastic and aesthetic surgery at the University of Sao Paulo under the direction of Professor Augusto Cruz. He pursued a second year of training focused on oculoplastics, culminating in a PhD with a thesis publication titled 'Mouvement saccadique palpébral'. Dr. Falcao completed years of fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology at Sainte-Justine Hospital, Université de Montréal. He currently holds an associate professor position in ophthalmology at McGill University, along with a clinical teaching role at the Université de Sherbrooke. Dr. Falcao has published approximately ten articles in the fields of oculoplastics and pediatric ophthalmology, regularly presents his work at conferences, and is the inventor of a revolutionary device for pediatric ophthalmology. He actively continues to conduct research in these domains. Dr. Falcao has received several academic honors, including the Outstanding Clinical Teaching Award from Université de Sherbrooke in 2017 and multiple first-place awards for research work dating back to 1999.
