Biography

Marcelo Bucheli is a Professor of Business Administration at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he has been a faculty member since 2005. He serves as the Academic Director for iDegrees and is a recognized leader in his field, having been awarded multiple MBA Teaching Excellence Awards from Gies College of Business. Prior to his current position, Bucheli was an Assistant Professor at Universidad de los Andes in Colombia and held a fellowship at Harvard Business School. His research interests encompass political economy, foreign direct investment, and business history, with a particular focus on multinational corporations. Bucheli is also an associate at the Center for Advanced Study at the University of Illinois and has contributed significantly to academic literature, winning the Global Strategy Journal 2024 Paper Prize. He holds a Ph.D. and an M.A. in History from Stanford University, along with degrees in Economics from Universidad de los Andes. Bucheli is actively involved in service, including being on the Editorial Advisory Board of Business History Review since 2015.
