Biography

Marcelo Olarreaga is a Full Professor at the University of Geneva in the Institute of Economics and Econometrics. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Geneva and an MA from the University of Sussex. Olarreaga has held various teaching positions at institutions such as CERDI/FERDI in France, the Graduate Institute in Switzerland, and INSEAD in France. His career includes experience at the World Bank's Research Department and the Economics Research Division of the World Trade Organization. As a researcher, Olarreaga focuses on international trade, economics development, and policies related to tariffs and trade agreements, with numerous publications in high-impact journals. He has served as a research fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research in London, contributing to important academic discussions around economic policies and trade dynamics.
