Dr. Marcelo Olarreaga

Biography

Marcelo Olarreaga is a Full Professor at the University of Geneva, where he is affiliated with the Institute of Economics and Econometrics. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Geneva and an MA from the University of Sussex. Olarreaga has extensive experience in international trade and policy and has contributed significantly to research in the field. He has served as a research fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research in London and has been involved in economic research at the World Bank and the World Trade Organization. Olarreaga has held teaching positions and has been an invited professor at prestigious institutions, including INSEAD and Sciences Po in Paris. His academic work has focused on trade policy, labor economics, and economic development, with numerous publications in leading economic journals. His research interests encompass an array of topics within economics, with an emphasis on the implications of trade policy on economic growth and poverty alleviation.
