Biography

Marci S. Uihlein is an Associate Professor of Architecture at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her professional experience includes working with the engineering consultancy Arup. Uihlein's current research concentrates on the history of the structural engineering profession, the professional relationships between architects and engineers, as well as the creative aspects of structural engineering design. She served as the past president of the Building Technology Educators’ Society (BTES) from 2016 to 2018 and was a Design Research Fellow in the College of Fine & Applied Arts. Additionally, Uihlein is the executive editor of a journal published by Taylor & Francis titled Technology | Architecture + Design. Her work has involved student pavilion projects presented at international conferences, including the IASS International Conference FORM FORCE 2019 in Barcelona, Spain.
