Biography

Marcia Borba is a Senior Lecturer and Research Director in Dental Biomaterials at the University of Manchester. She completed her undergraduate studies in Dentistry at the University of Passo Fundo in Brazil between 2001 and 2006 and obtained her Ph.D. in Dentistry, focusing on Dental Materials, at the University of São Paulo in 2010. She has also undergone a research internship in the Ph.D. program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in the USA. Prior to her current position, she served as an Associate Professor in the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programs at the Dental School of the University of Passo Fundo from 2010 to 2023 and held multiple administrative roles including Graduate Program Coordinator and Research Coordinator. In addition, she has gained international experience as a research scholar at New York University College of Dentistry. Her main research interests include dental restorative materials, implants, prosthodontics, and digital dentistry, with methodological expertise in biomechanics, fatigue fracture, wear, and failure analysis. Marcia is a member of the Academy of Dental Materials and the International Association for Dental Research, contributing actively to the field.
