Biography

Dr. Marco Bottino is a Robert W. Browne Endowed Professor at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. He is currently the Director of Research and the Postgraduate Program in Regenerative Dentistry. Dr. Bottino has received numerous research grants related to regenerative medicine from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), various foundations, and private industry, and has been recognized with the International Association for Dental Research (IADR) Centennial Emerging Leader Award and Young Investigator Awards. He has served as a reviewer for over 30 journals in regenerative medicine and biomaterials, and from 2018 to 2023 was a standing member of the Musculoskeletal Tissue Engineering (MTE) study section at NIH. Dr. Bottino is a Fellow of the Academy of Dental Materials and has held leadership positions including President of the Dental Materials Group and Immediate Past-President of the Pulp Biology Research Group (PBRG). His research focuses on drug delivery, scaffolds for pulp-dentin complex regeneration, personalized scaffolds for craniomaxillofacial bone and periodontal regeneration, and soft tissue reconstruction, with nearly 200 peer-reviewed publications to his name.
