Marco Cursi is currently a full professor of Latin Paleography at the University of Naples – Federico II. He has contributed significantly to the field with various articles and a specific monograph (Viella, 2007) on the manuscript tradition of the Decameron from a codicological and paleographical perspective. He published a volume on the writings and books of Giovanni Boccaccio (Viella, 2013) and edited a monograph on the evolution of book forms over time, from wax tablets to e-books (Il Mulino, 2016). Cursi also co-authored a book presenting the case of the autograph commentary of the first edition of Pietro Bembo’s Prose (Viella, 2018) and edited a volume on the books and writings of Leonardo da Vinci (Il Mulino, 2020). Since 2019, he has been a member of the International Committee on Latin Paleography and has been a Corresponding Member of the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei since 2021. Currently, he is responsible for the research unit 'The Manuscripts of the Tradition of the Rerum vulgarium fragmenta' at Naples, Federico II, as part of the 'Petrarch’s ITINERA' project (Prin 2017). He coordinates the paleographic-codicological section of the project for the critical edition of the 'Letters of Catherine of Siena' (Historical Institute of the Middle Ages, Rome) and is part of the Scientific Committee of the literary, linguistic, and philological studies center 'Pio Rajna' in Rome, as well as the Scientific Committees of the journals 'Studi sul Boccaccio', 'Filologia e Critica', and 'Segno e Testo'.
