Dr. Marco Di Renzo

Biography

Professor Marco Di Renzo is a prominent figure in the field of Telecommunications Engineering at King's College London. He joined the institution in January 2025 after receiving his Laurea (cum laude) and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of L’Aquila, Italy, in 2003 and 2007, respectively. He furthered his academic credentials by obtaining a Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches from the University Paris-Sud, now known as Paris-Saclay University, France, in 2013. As a Research Director at CNRS and Head of the Intelligent Physical Communications group at the Laboratory of Signals and Systems (L2S), he has contributed significantly to advancements in telecommunications and information processing. Di Renzo has held prestigious fellowships and visiting professorships at various institutions, including the University of Oulu in Finland and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. He is a Fellow of multiple professional organizations, including IEEE and IET, and has been recognized as a Highly Cited Researcher. His research interests include Wireless Communications, Signal Processing, Optimization, and Stochastic Geometry, among others. Over the years, he has received several awards for his contributions to engineering, including the Michel Monpetit Prize from the French Academy of Sciences.
