Biography

Marco Dozza is a Full Professor in Vehicle Safety at Chalmers University of Technology, specifically within the Department of Mechanics and Maritime Sciences. He leads the Crash Analysis Prevention (CAP) group in the Vehicle Safety Division, focusing on the modeling of road-user behavior, active safety development and evaluation, human-automation interaction, and cycling safety. His research integrates cognitive science and neuroscience with engineering and human factors, underpinned by naturalistic and experimental data. Marco earned his Ph.D. in Bioengineering from the University of Bologna, Italy, in collaboration with the Oregon Health Science University in Portland, USA. Following his graduation, he worked as a System Developer for two years at Volvo Technology, contributing to research and innovation within the Volvo Group. In 2009, he became an examiner for the course on Active Safety in the Master’s Programme in Mobility Engineering at Chalmers. Additionally, Marco teaches a course on Micromobility for a sustainable future.
