Biography

Marco Pavone is an Associate Professor in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Stanford University and serves as a Senior Fellow at the Precourt Institute for Energy. He is the director of the Autonomous Systems Laboratory and the Center for Automotive Research at Stanford. Prior to his appointment at Stanford, he was a Research Technologist in the Robotics Section at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Pavone has received multiple prestigious awards, including the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers from President Barack Obama, the Office of Naval Research Young Investigator Award, and the National Science Foundation Early Career (CAREER) Award. He has been recognized as one of America's 20 highly promising investigators under age 40 by the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE).
