Professor Dr. Marco Riguzzi

Biography

Marco Riguzzi is a senior nursing scientist and implementation researcher at the Institute Implementation Science Health Care (IfIS) of the University of Zurich. His research is centered on health services research and health economics, focusing on the integration of nursing science and clinical research within implementation science. He particularly emphasizes physical and mental health, functioning, and resilience management for families in vulnerable situations, especially those affected by critical illnesses, injury, or bereavement. Riguzzi's work often extends to intensive and palliative care settings and investigates the effects of family support interventions on individual family illness management and mental health outcomes. He has a strong focus on evidence-based interprofessional care and has successfully implemented models of bereavement support into routine practice. Additionally, Riguzzi evaluates health technology assessment reports commissioned by the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health. He teaches various methods related to quantitative empirical research and implementation science at UZH, as well as at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm and Careum School of Health in Zurich. He earned his doctoral degree from the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences of the University of Bern in 2013.
