Marco Susani is an award-winning designer and founding partner of the design studio Koz Susani Design based in Chicago. His main interest lies in combining technological innovation with emotional design, shaping a vision that drives the future of humanity through design. Over the past six years, he has consulted for Enel, the largest European energy provider, on developing integrated user experiences for the 'e-mobility revolution'. His focus has included designing public chargers for electric vehicles and user interfaces for accessing charging services, along with envisioning the architecture of future charging stations. His project received the prestigious Compasso D’Oro, an important international design award. His extensive portfolio includes design projects for global companies such as Apple, 3M, Enel, Fontana Arte, Logitech, Mitsubishi, Motorola, Nestle, Nissan, Panasonic, Philips, Pirelli, and Seiko. Currently, he leads research initiatives in Future Health, Sustainable Mobility, and Future Work. His unique blend of consultancy experience in the corporate sector enriches his academic research and teaching activities, providing a real-life perspective. His academic involvement includes teaching Design-Driven Innovation at UIC (University of Illinois at Chicago) and founding the Interaction Design course at Domus Academy, as well as lecturing at international design conferences. In 2023, he co-led a workgroup focused on Product-Service Design curriculum as part of the 'Future Design Education' initiative led by Don Norman. Previously, he held the position of vice-president at Motorola Consumer Experience Design from 2000 to 2010, where he spearheaded design-driven innovation. Marco began his career at the renowned Olivetti Design studio in Milan, Italy, becoming an associate partner to Italian Design legend Ettore Sottsass, and served as Director of the Domus Academy Research Center, contributing to the fields of hi-tech Product Design, Interaction Design, and Strategic Design.
