Professor Dr. Marco Van Gelderen

Biography

Marco van Gelderen is a psychologist specializing in enterprising behavior, focusing on individual-level enterprising competencies such as idea generation, opportunity spotting, action-taking, perseverance, networking, teamwork, and persuasion. He has developed various study formats and conducts workshops and short courses aimed at enhancing these competencies across diverse settings. Marco is currently an associate editor for the learning innovation section of the Entrepreneurship Education & Pedagogy journal, and serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Business Venturing and Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice. His research interests include enterprising skills, competencies, and soft skills associated with entrepreneurship. Marco is committed to exploring how education can foster these skills to prepare individuals for future entrepreneurial challenges. His work also aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, emphasizing the importance of contributions to societal prosperity through enterprising activities.
