Professor Dr. Marcos Machado

Biography

Marcos Machado is an Assistant Professor at the University of Twente in the Department of Business Information Systems, part of the Industrial Engineering faculty. He holds a Ph.D. in Modelling Computational Science from Ontario Tech University in Canada, and a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology Ceara in Brazil. His professional background includes seven years of experience in the banking industries in Brazil and Canada. Machado's current research interests lie in the applications of machine learning algorithms and data science to solve various business problems. He has expertise in Economics, Econometrics, Finance, and Machine Learning, specifically focusing on Credit Logit Models and warning systems for organizations. He actively contributes to teaching, supervising both Bachelor's and Master's thesis projects, and is involved in committee services at the university.
