Biography

Marcos Sampaio is a Musculoskeletal (MSK) Radiologist at the University of Ottawa and The Ottawa Hospital. He has been an assistant professor at the University of Ottawa since 2009. Originally from Brazil, he earned his medical degree and completed his electronic engineering and medical radiological studies at the University of Sao Paulo. He also undertook an MSK research fellowship at the Hospital for Joint Diseases, affiliated with New York University. Dr. Sampaio specializes in sports medicine, rheumatology, and marrow imaging, with a particular focus on the use of ultrasound and MRI in musculoskeletal imaging. He is actively engaged in medical education, having been awarded as a clinical teacher for undergraduate students, residents, and fellows over the years. Currently, he serves as the director of the MSK fellowship program and is involved in various departmental research projects.
