Biography

Marcus Bernardini is an Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Toronto and serves as the Division Head of Gynaecologic Oncology at the University Health Network and Mount Sinai Hospital. He completed his MD and MSc degrees at Western University, followed by a residency and a combined fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Toronto and Duke University Medical Centre. Dr. Bernardini has received numerous awards for his research and teaching, including the Chair’s Award for Outstanding Research Potential in 2013 and the Award for Teaching Excellence in 2014. He leads the UHN robotic surgery program and is a co-director of the Women’s College Prevent Ovarian Cancer Program. His research interests focus on improving outcomes for women with endometrial and ovarian cancer, particularly in minimizing morbidity during surgery and enhancing the classification of high-risk endometrial cancer, as well as risk stratification for women at risk of developing ovarian cancer.
