Marcus Faulkner is a historian specializing in twentieth century naval intelligence history with a focus on the World War era. He holds a BA in War Studies from King’s College London (2000) and an MA in History from the School of Slavic and East European Studies, University College London (2003). He completed his PhD entitled 'Intelligence, Policy and the Kriegsmarine in the Interwar Period' at the Department of War Studies, King’s College London in 2009. Currently a Senior Lecturer at the university, he teaches modules on Seapower, Strategy, and Cold War history. His modern naval history research encompasses areas such as signals intelligence and strategy during the World Wars. He is currently preparing a monograph on the history of German naval intelligence from 1919 to 1945 and divides his research between the interaction of sea power and national strategy, and the roles of intelligence organizations during the World Wars. His current projects focus on naval signals intelligence and fleet operations.
