Biography

Marcus Folch joined the Department of Classics at Columbia University in 2009. He received a B.A. in Classics from Cornell University in 2000 and a Ph.D. in Classics from Stanford University in 2006. Before his current position, he served as an Assistant Professor in Classical Studies at the University of Richmond from 2007 to 2009 and was a Visiting Lecturer in the same field at the same institution in 2006-2007. He is currently working on a book project provisionally titled "Bondage, Incarceration, Prison in Ancient Greece and Rome: A Cultural and Literary History."
