Biography

Marcus Moore is an Associate Professor at the Peter Allard School of Law, University of British Columbia. He holds a D.Phil. from Oxford University and B.C.L. with Honours and LL.B. with Honours from McGill University, where he was a Gold Medalist. He also earned an A.B. in Mathematics from Harvard University. Prior to academia, he served as a Law Clerk to Chief Justice Beverley McLachlin P.C. at the Supreme Court of Canada and has been a member of the Bar with the Law Society of Upper Canada. In addition to his teaching role, he has experience as a Graduate Tutor at Oxford University, where he was also a convenor of the Regulation Discussion Group. His research interests encompass a wide array of legal topics including Law Obligations, Socio-Economic Regulation, Regulatory Theory, Governance, and Law & Society, with a particular focus on Sports Law and the intersection of Law with Critical Disability Theory. Professor Moore is actively engaged in graduate supervision and welcomes requests from students whose research interests align with his expertise.
