Marek Naczyk is an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Policy and Intervention at the University of Oxford. His research intersects social policy, comparative political economy, and international political economy. He earned his DPhil in Politics from the University of Oxford in 2013 and has a background from Sciences Po Paris. His current research projects examine the role of the financial services industry in the diffusion of pension privatization across affluent democracies and emerging economies, the connections between the rise of private pension funds and corporate governance reform, and the changing roles of social partners in occupational welfare provision as explored in the ProWelfare project. Additionally, his research addresses the dualization of labor markets and social protection in Europe, and investigates the rise of economic patriotism in Central and Eastern Europe following the Global Financial Crisis. Naczyk also serves as an Official Fellow and Secretary of the Governing Body at Kellogg College.
