Biography

Marel Katsivela joined the common law program in French at the University of Ottawa in 2010. Her research lies in the areas of transportation law, comparative maritime law and comparative tort law. She has published articles in these fields and is currently focusing on regulatory and ethical issues related to unmanned vessels. Katsivela has received various grants supporting her research interests. Previously, she practiced law in New York for three years and is a member of the bars of New York, Greece, and Ontario.
