Dr. Maren Tomforde

Biography

Maren Tomforde is a political anthropologist and Global Affairs scholar, holding the position of Honorary Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Security Studies and Criminology at Macquarie University in Sydney. She serves as the Head of Global International Relations at the Bundeswehr Command Staff College in Hamburg, Germany, where she contributes to the education of staff general officers from Germany and NATO as well as non-NATO countries. Maren's research focuses on the complex power dynamics and security challenges within the Indo-Pacific region, emphasizing the interconnectedness of modern security issues and providing critical insights into the complexities of 21st-century international relations. She has studied Social Cultural Anthropology and International Relations at universities in Hamburg, Münster, and Paris.
