Dr. Margaret Bowers

Biography

Margaret Therese Bowers is a Clinical Professor at the Duke University School of Nursing, where she holds a leadership position as Chair of the Division of Advanced Nursing Scholarship and serves as the Practice Director for Cardiovascular Specialty. She possesses a diverse background in advanced practice nursing, particularly within cardiology, as evidenced by her secondary appointment in the Department of Medicine's Division of Cardiology. Dr. Bowers completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at Binghamton University and earned her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in critical care from Duke University. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (D.N.P.) from the University of Colorado Denver, School of Medicine. Her extensive experience includes significant contributions to geriatric care and the management of heart failure patients, reflecting her commitment to advancing nursing practices in critical areas of healthcare.
