Biography

Margaret Bublitz is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior, the Department of Medicine, and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Brown Medical School. She received her PhD in clinical psychology from the University of British Columbia and completed her psychology internship and NIH T32 postdoctoral fellowship in Cardiovascular Behavioral Medicine at Brown Medical School. Her research focuses on perinatal mental health and integrated behavioral health, with a particular emphasis on understanding the impact of psychological stress during pregnancy and its implications for perinatal health. Bublitz leads several NIH-funded studies exploring pathways linking maternal psychological health and biological responses during and after pregnancy, including mindfulness interventions designed to alter these pathways. She has been recognized as a Global Fulbright Scholar for 2024-2025, during which she will investigate models of maternal mental health service delivery across the UK and New Zealand. Bublitz is a Senior Investigator at the Brown Center for Mindfulness and a member of the Stress, Trauma, and Resilience Institute, where she contributes to advancing understanding and practices related to maternal mental health.
