Biography

Margaret Burnett is a Professor and Associate Head of the Academic Department at the Max Rady College of Medicine at the University of Manitoba. She obtained her CCFP and practiced family medicine in Winnipeg before transitioning to full-time teaching at the university. As the director of undergraduate medical education in Obstetrics and Gynecology, she has engaged medical students in valuing their role as integral members of the health-care team. Her clinical interests focus on advancing women’s reproductive rights and implementing minimally invasive gynecology strategies. Margaret graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1981 with BSc (Med) and MD degrees and completed an advanced instructor course in medical simulation in Boston in 2010.
