Dr. Margaret Bush

Biography

Margaret Bush is a Clinical Professor at the School of Nursing at Duke University, where she has been actively teaching since 2021. With a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of California, Los Angeles, she has extensive research experience focused on the role of nitric oxide in malaria and cardiovascular disease, particularly regarding biological signaling molecules. In addition to her academic role, she has over twenty years of clinical experience as a licensed pharmacist. Her clinical research has also included drug development in oncology and hematopoietic growth factors. Some of her notable research includes a scoping review on antineoplastic drug contamination and its implications for patient care areas, highlighting the adverse health effects for healthcare workers. Bush’s work, published in various academic journals, addresses critical concerns in clinical environments, particularly regarding hazardous drug exposure.
