Dr. Margaret Hall

Biography

Margaret Isabel Hall holds an LLB, LLM, and PhD and serves as a Professor and Director of the MA Applied Legal Studies Program at Simon Fraser University. She previously was an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law at Thompson Rivers University, where she was a founding faculty member. Her research utilizes empirical legal methodologies and doctrinal analysis. Hall's research areas include health law, particularly medical assistance in dying, mental capacity, vulnerability theory, wills, and tort law. She is a co-author of 'Canadian Tort Law'. Furthermore, she serves as an Adjunct Professor at Thompson Rivers University and the Australian Centre for Health Law Research. Her interests extend to tort law, aging, health law, and supportive decision-making. Hall remarks that she is currently accepting graduate students for mentoring in legal research concerning various matters.
