Biography

Margaret Moore is a Professor in the Department of Political Studies at Queen's University, cross-appointed with the Philosophy department, where she teaches in the Masters Political Legal Theory program. She is the author of four books, including 'Who Owns Natural Resources?' (Polity 2019), 'Political Theory of Territory' (Oxford 2015), 'Ethics of Nationalism' (Oxford 2001), and 'Foundations of Liberalism' (Oxford 1993). Her book 'Political Theory of Territory' won the Canadian Philosophical Association’s Book Prize in 2017 and was translated into Japanese in 2020. She has published articles in prominent journals including the American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Political Philosophy, Political Theory, Philosophical Studies, Canadian Journal of Philosophy, and Ethics International Affairs. In 2018, she was a visiting fellow at the Australian National University and held the position of Olof Palme Visiting Research Professor at the University of Stockholm. In 2019, she was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.
