Biography

Margareta Krabbe is an Associate Professor at the Biology Education Centre at Uppsala University. She completed her PhD in Molecular Microbiology in 1995 and has a strong background in teaching and internationalization in biology education. Her post-doctoral research included work at the University of Utah and the University of California, Santa Barbara, focusing on gene regulation in uropathogenic Escherichia coli. Following her time abroad, she contributed to projects at the Karolinska Institute and worked as a Senior Scientist at Biotage AB, where she specialized in commercializing DNA sequencing technologies. In addition to her academic responsibilities, she coordinates university activities related to the Testa Center at GE Healthcare and participates in the EIT Health Project. Outside of her professional work, Margareta enjoys singing and playing the violin, particularly in classical and folk music genres, as well as spending time with family and friends.
