Biography

Margaux Whiskin is an Assistant Professor in French Studies at the University of Warwick. She holds a Master's degree from La Sorbonne Paris-IV and a PhD from the University of St Andrews, where her research focused on the narrative structures in literature through the works of Sterne and Diderot. Her doctoral thesis, which was completed in 2012, explores philosophical debates in 'Tristram Shandy' and 'Jacques le fataliste'. Since joining Warwick in September 2013, she has taught courses on French literature and culture, including comparative studies of French and British literary traditions from the long eighteenth century. Her research interests include the interplay of literature and philosophy in the context of French and English literature surrounding the Great War. In addition to publishing articles and co-editing books, she has been involved in various academic roles, including coordinating student engagement initiatives.
