Biography

Margo Adam is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation at the University of Alberta. She employs interdisciplinary mixed methods to investigate the sport performance and well-being of women athletes. Her research focuses primarily on the role of self-compassion in sport performance, the biopsychosocial experiences surrounding menstrual function and dysfunction, and issues relating to the Female Athlete Triad and Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S). Margo also emphasizes eudaimonic well-being and body-related well-being within her studies. She seeks to understand the various factors that influence athletes' experiences across different sports and competitive levels. Margo has extensive training in psychology and health from her academic background, having completed her Ph.D. in Kinesiology at the University of Saskatchewan. She has previously held postdoctoral positions at both the University of Toronto and the University of Saskatchewan, which have informed her current research agenda.
