Biography

Margo J. Monteith is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Purdue University. Her research interests include stereotyping, prejudice, discrimination, prejudice reduction, confronting bias, and fostering inclusion belonging. She has received funding from the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation and has held numerous leadership roles, including President of the Midwestern Psychological Association and Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Purdue's College of Health and Human Sciences. From 2019 to 2023, she served as editor-in-chief of the journal Social Psychological and Personality Science, and has been recognized for her contributions with multiple awards, including the Research Career Achievement Award from Purdue's College of Health and Human Sciences and the Distinguished Service Award from the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues. She is a fellow of several professional organizations, including the American Psychological Association and the Association for Psychological Science.
