Biography

Margreth Lünenborg is a professor of communication science, specializing in journalism, at Freie Universität Berlin since 2009. Previously, she was a professor at the University of Siegen and served as a guest and visiting professor at various universities, including Vienna and Salzburg. She earned her doctorate in 1996 at Freie Universität Berlin, focusing on female journalists in Europe, and habilitated in 2005 at TU Dortmund on journalism as a cultural process. She has been involved in academia since 1998, including a role at the University of Leipzig and leading the International Journalism College at Freie Universität Berlin from 2009 to 2014. Her research addresses Gender Media Studies, the transformation of journalism, public communication, and migration's impact on media. Lünenborg has directed multiple projects and is actively involved in various academic committees and as a mentor for scholarship programs. Her contributions to academia include numerous publications across multiple genres.
